What it Means to Be a Private Practice

At Stitches Veterinary Surgery Center, we’re proud to be a private, locally-owned practice. This means our decisions are driven by what’s best for your pet’s health and well-being. Our focus is to support the families of the community and their species-diverse family members, not by corporate profits. Our veterinarians and staff are all passionate animal lovers who live and work in your community, so we understand the unique needs of your furry family member. We’re committed to providing personalized care and building lasting relationships with you and your pet.

We follow our Vision, Mission, and Values and work together to ensure the best care available for your pets. Veterinary medicine is going through a corporate transition, we want to recommit our focus on independence and the support of the community

Full-Service Veterinary Hospital

Stitches Veterinary Surgery Center is a full-service veterinary hospital located in Long Beach, California.  We provide a large range of surgical services including orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology, and traumatology (fractures, wounds, etc). Our goal is always to have patients recover in the comfort of their own homes and we have excellent nursing care for patients staying in the hospital, including overnight monitoring.

Board-Certified Small Animal Specialty Surgery

Dr. Courtney Campbell leads our dedicated surgical team. As a board-certified surgeon specializing in small animal surgery, Dr. Campbell has completed three one-year specialty internships and a three-year surgical residency.

You may ask why Board Certified? Board-certified veterinary specialists have completed advanced training in a specific area of veterinary medicine and passed a rigorous examination to demonstrate their expertise. This advanced training complements the care provided by your pet’s primary veterinarian. Pet owners may be referred to a board-certified specialist when their pet requires specialized equipment or expertise for diagnosis or treatment.

We offer a wide range of advanced surgical options in our facility, ensuring your pet receives the highest standard of care. Board certification is a mark of quality exceeding set veterinary standards and with a certified surgeon on staff, we are able to provide cutting-edge treatments for complex conditions.
